It's time to take a look at Netbooks!

There is now a new type of lightweight laptop on the market that's designed primarily for web surfing, emails and messaging, the Netbook. It's small in price and size making it a cool ultra-portable laptop. They usually have screens that are 7 to 10in and there's no CD/DVD drive, plus the USB ports are kept to a minimum. They utilise the small Intel Atom processor that has been specifically designed for the job as it doesn't require cooling. It either runs a cut-down version of Windows XP or the Linux OS and connects to the web via Wi-Fi, so you'll need to track down your wi-fi hotspots. In addition they use a solid-state drive which uses less power and dosen't hog system resources.

They are never going to be a replacement for your home PC but they are a small and convenient portable secondary device that you can use on the move. Most of them are under £300 so check them out at Cool Amazon Notebooks today!

Firefox 3 is stunningly quick...

If you haven't already upgraded to Firefox 3 browser you must do so today!
This latest version is above all, fast... plus there are some really slick new features that put it in different league to IE. I love the Smart Location Bar and the way it guesses what you're searching for. Sites from your bookmarks and your history that match what you're typing, pop-up for you to choose.

You can now add bookmarks with a single click by hitting the star icon in the Location bar and if its already marked the star lights up to tell you. You can also tag bookmarks to organise them without having to use the old folder method.

This has set the standard and I think IE8 from what I've seen with it's beta version isn't going to match it..nice one Mozilla!
