Some very alarming stats regarding 'Broadband Britain' have been published from the Office of National Statistics. Of all the broadband users in the UK only 6.4 per cent have a connection faster than 8Mbps which once you compare to countries like Japan, which has an average connection speed of 63.6Mbps! Unbelievable...can you just imagine how much more business could be done plus how much more enjoyable the whole net experience would be.
We need an optic fibre backbone in the UK NOW! The government, ISPs and industry regulators must get this sorted as this is going to be so detrimental to all types of UK business and drop us even further behind the rest of the world. It must be addressed immediately!!
Do what ever you can to put pressure on the government, email your local mp, whatever....
