Got to tell you about a real cool utility I've come across called CCleaner. It's free, simple to use and does an excellent job of clearing your computer of unwanted software, temporary files and internet garbage! It does the standard stuff like empty your Recycle Bin plus removes unnecessary memory dumps, file fragments and cleans out the Registry, ensuring that its free of obsolete or incorrect entries. It has various options at install and I chose not to install the Yahoo Toolbar with CCleaner option but feel free to do as you please!

I've just come across another cool piece of software called Treesize from Jam Software that helps you work out exactly what's using up all your disk space. It tells you how big each folder is plus it also shows how much data is held in your subfolders. This is an essential piece of kit when you are giving the hard drive a spruce up!

Skype is definately the best internet calling service, but it's not just about cheap calls. Get the latest version 3.0 from Skype and find out about some of its other cool features. With it's plug-ins you can record calls, create call-specific ringtones and use crazy talk avatars to mention just a few. Go to Tools, select Do More and Launch a selection of fun features. You can also install the Skype Toolbar that works with IE and Firefox so you can make calls with a click. Have fun!!

I've just come across PopTray which is a FREE download and an excellent way of defending yourself against Spam. Once installed and setup, it checks for email and shows what is on the server without downloading any messages. It allows you to set up rules, filters, black and whitelists and once you have got rid of the rubbish you can tell your email client to download the important stuff! Give it a go! You'll be impressed....
