A small and portable PDF viewer..

If you're travelling around a lot and need access to a portable PDF viewer, then I've stumbled across Sumatra PDF which will fit the bill. Download it from the link and save it to your USB Drive, Ipod, portable disk drive, cd/dvd etc. It is a free, open source PDF viewer for Windows and has a minimalistic style. It has the features you'll need, is only a Meg in size and starts up very quickly. Give it a whirl...

Many USB drive users will be aware of the U3 system of portable applications that allow you to run things from a drive, but there is also an open access system - portableapps.com - that does the same job and offers portable versions of Firefox browser, Thunderbird email, ClamWin antivirus, OfficeSuite and many more. Not sure about PDF reader, so this GUI post is very timely...

Coincidentally, I wrote a review for my blogging and hacks site ScienceText.com yesterday evening, which posted today - Running Applications on Your USB Drive. The system is so good you could almost ditch your desktop applications and free up some hard disk space!

Thanks very much for that Dave. I've just checked out portableapps.com and I see that Sumatra is in the list along with many others. Excellent find, it's bookmarked!
